Hong Mei

After about 20 years’ in corporate life, focusing on people and organizational development in the China/ Asia Headquarters of some MNCs (B&Q, BlueScope Steel and Danaher), Mei is now embarking on a new journey of bringing Flawless Consulting skills to more people in the region who may have similar challenges to what she was facing before and continues to face.

Mei regards her introduction and connection with Flawless Consulting® as a “great divide” in her career and personal life.

Before first reading the book and subsequently attending an OD program threaded with the concepts of Flawless Consulting, she had been wrestling with living in two parallel worlds. World A was called “personal”, where she attended many personal development, psychological, philosophical and spiritual programs, seeking solutions to the challenges that life constantly presented to her, from old challenges of being a good daughter and sister, to new challenges of being a good wife. World B was called “professional”, where she led people and organization development initiatives for China/Asia region. However, World B, from time to time, held frustrations and anxieties about not getting things done well enough due to numerous stakeholders, vague, high or conflicting demands, and lack of support. The “soft skills” that Mei was taught (and was teaching) in World B seemed not to work well, as those were mainly about how to manage, which didn’t help her manage when she was not really the manager of the people or resources involved.

Flawless Consulting led her to a world of ONE, where Mei excitedly found the structures, steps and skills that were deeply rooted in psychology and philosophy, and provided simple, practical help for navigating through the meetings and relationships involved in her OD consulting work . Mei also found that what she learned from Flawless Consulting brought new light to her personal life, which constantly reminded her of repositioning her role in family as someone “collaborative”, even with her parents of over 70, and with her daughter of 8.

Mei received her MBA from Cardiff University (UK), and is a CPF (Certified Professional Facilitator, IAF), Action Learning Facilitator (Learning Sources), and a Situational Leadership® II Experience trainer (Ken Blanchard).

Mei lives with her family on Chongming Island in Shanghai, where she enjoys life away from the city while still remaining close to the city.
