In this final session of Connecting for the Common Good: A Masterclass with Peter Block and Friends, we confront a pressing question:What if Human Resources and Organizational Development stopped trying to fix the current system — and instead led us into something entirely new?
Too often, these vital and imaginative functions are tasked with optimizing what already exists: improving productivity, increasing engagement, and fine-tuning the culture. But what if the real challenge isn’t to improve the old model — but to be an alternative?
This conversation explores how refusal and departure can become legitimate strategies for transformation, not as acts of rebellion but as acts of vision. We’ll discuss how HR and OD professionals can reclaim their power as culture-makers and stewards of possibility, guiding organizations toward forms of work that liberate employees. We will address the underlying reasons why people have to be ordered to come to work.
Together with Peter Block and fellow change-makers, we’ll imagine what liberated workplaces would look like and what small, important steps would be needed to achieve them.
